How long a Webflow project takes, week by week

A realistic week-by-week schedule for a Webflow build, what actually causes delays, and how to compress the timeline if you need to.
How long a Webflow project takes, week by week

The standard schedule

A typical soflow business website runs four to six weeks from kickoff to launch.

Week 1 — Discovery and structure

Commercial goals, audience, competitor review, sitemap and page-level content outline. We agree the content deadline here, because it is the single biggest determinant of the launch date.

Week 2 — Design direction

Key pages designed: homepage and one or two internal templates. This establishes the type scale, colour system and component set. Approval at this stage matters more than approval on any later page.

Weeks 3 to 4 — Build

Design system built in Webflow, remaining pages assembled, CMS collections structured, responsive behaviour tuned across breakpoints, interactions added.

Week 5 — Content, SEO and QA

Final content loaded, title tags and meta descriptions written, structured data added, redirects mapped from any old URLs, cross-browser and device testing.

Week 6 — Launch and handover

DNS cutover, analytics verification, search console submission, handover session and documentation.

What actually causes delays

In our experience it is almost never development. It is content. Copy that is still being written in week five, photography that has not been booked, logo files that only exist as a JPEG someone screenshotted. A project waiting on content sits idle, and restarting it costs more than the wait itself.

The second most common cause is late-stage design reversal — approving a direction in week two and reversing it in week four. That is why we front-load the design decision.

Compressing the timeline

Two to three weeks is achievable for a focused site at roughly a 30 percent premium. One to two weeks is possible for a single landing page at around 60 percent. Both require content ready on day one and a single decision-maker available for same-day approvals. If either condition is missing, the premium buys nothing.

Larger projects

Sites with e-commerce, multilingual setups or custom application logic run six to ten weeks. Multilingual in particular adds a translation cycle that sits outside our control.
